Loops or cycles are used to group together processes that may run multiple times within the analysis.
They can be displayed inMTM-HWD® using the Create loop button.
Properties:
▪Loops behave similarly to the "Sections" feature in analyses.
▪Loops must not overlap.
▪The number of times a loop runs can be specified in the Frequency and Amount columns.
▪Loops can be nested.
▪Factors can be assigned to loops.
▪Loops cannot interrupt combined actions or sequential sets.
▪Loops can be annotated in the corresponding column.
Requirements:
▪When using loops, the starting position and the trunk flexion must be identical in the first and last lines of the loop.
Display settings
▪Loops are visually highlighted by a light blue color.
▪Loops are numbered sequentially (Column Sec no.)
▪Nested loops are numbered from the outside in.
Hints about the basis for calculations
▪The loop times and ergonomic values are calculated based on the quantity of iterations.
▪Transition times resulting from the transition between the last and first lines of the cycle are calculated but not reported separately.
Creating loops
1.Select desired row(s)
2.In the Ribbon on the MTM-HWD Analysis tab, click the Create Loop button
--> Two new lines with a blue background are inserted above and below the selected line:Start of the loop and End of the loop
You cannot enter ergonomics data or process times in these lines.

Assignment of factors
▪The entry can be entered as "n x quantity" in the frequency column or as "n x quantity" in the Quantity column.
▪If values are entered in both columns, the values are multiplied.
▪Factors are displayed in parentheses in the Section Factor column.
▪The brackets are generated in the following order and contain the corresponding column entry.
(AxH)*(Frequency)*(Quantity) —> typically (1*1.0)*(1)*(1)
▪The factors in combined loops are also displayed in the Section Factor column.
