Releaser and Tester

Role: Releaser, tester

Functions that are necessary for processing building blocks with different statuses.

Function

Meaning

Change elements of other user accounts

Allows to change elements of other users with status 1.

Allowed to save elements with status x

Allows the user to save elements with status x.

For each status, it is possible to specify (either individually or role-based) which user is allowed to save an element of this status.

Element usage can be restricted depending on type and status(setting per configuration)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

TiCon distinguishes between three types of users for the status:

User with creation privileges

User with test privileges

User with release privileges

The definition which privileges an user of TiCon has is determined by the system administrator.

Creation privileges

The user having creation privileges may select three variants of the status:

The "Own element" status represents the creation state. The element is being edited and not yet finished.

The "Released for group" status means that the first version has been finished. The element is still in the planning stage. Internal adjustment is taking place in the creation team.

The "Released for tester" status represents the finished condition of the element from the creator's point of view. The internal adjustment in the creation team is finished. The element is released for testing. It can be compared with the signature in the "Created" field on a form.

Test privileges - Role tester

The user with test privileges is authorized to check the accurate creation and contents of a process element. After a check carried out without any problems, the status is changed from "Released for tester" to "Checked". This is similar to a signature in the "Checked" field on a form.

Release rights - Releaser role

The user with release privileges is authorized to release a process element for the determination of default time. In doing so, the process element is definitively released, whereby it may be used for the calculation of performance targets in a wage system (incentive wages). It is similar to a signature in the "Released" field on a form.

Via the setting in the Element configuration, the status’ default after creation is defined.

Note:

The change of the status is not compulsory. If elements are created with the status 3, they can be edited by all users and be used in other elements, as long as it is not forbidden by the element usage.
