The type of a process element determines its further usage. There are four different types:
P - Planning
The "Planning" type defines a working condition in the planning stage. An element of the "Planning" type is used only for planning purposes. A planning element may not be used to determine a default time.
E - Production
The "Production" type defines the final state of an element. An element of the "Production" type may be used to determine a default time.
C - Calculation
The "Calculation" type defines the state of an element during the calculation stage, e.g. for an offer. A calculation element may not be used to determine a default time.
S - Simulation
The "Simulation" type defines the state of elements created using simulation tools. A simulation element may not be used to determine a default time.
Via the settings in the element configuration, it is defined which type of element is to be assigned to the element when created.
