Value Added Calculation Using Parameters

Formulas that use process elements as parameters can also include process indicators.

This makes it possible to calculate value-added and non-value-added time components based on parameter values.

When formulas are calculated, the time components of the flow indicators are taken into account for the basic arithmetic operations addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), and division (:).

Other functions, such as MIN, continue to be calculated exclusively on the basis of TTU values.

To enable multiplication with numeric values, numbers must first be converted into time vectors using the CTU function.

Example:

Formula Calculation: LOGISTICS * QUANTITY + INSPECTION taking process indicators into account

LOGISTICS and INSPECTION are process elements.

QUANTITY is a numeric value.

To ensure that the formula is calculated correctly, the formula definition must be entered as follows:

LOGISTICS * CTU(9, QUANTITY) + INSPECTION
