There are different ways to create a product variant:
Option 1 – Create Within a Balancing in the Variants Tab
The following buttons in the Variants ribbon are used for adding or removing product variants in a balancing:

Creates a new product variant and inserts it. |

Deletes an inserted product variant. |

Moves the selected product variant(s) one row up or down. |
Option 2 – Create Using the Ribbon or the Context Menu
A new product family can be created using the "New" button in the ribbon or the context menu.
The code, description and other master data are stored in the header.
