Language settings

For companies where multiple languages are spoken, there is the option to assign a login language for TiCon to the user.

This can be defined via a setting for both the user and a role.

Set the default language

In the Header tab for a user or role, you can assign a default language to that user or role in the corresponding field.

In this section, you can select any of the installed languages or leave the field blank.

Impact on the Login Process

Language selection during login without a specified default language

If a user or the roles assigned to that user does not have a default language assigned, the user has the ability to select the desired language on the login screen.

Language selection during login with a specified default language

If a default language has been assigned to a user or to the roles assigned to that user, the login screen will only allow the user to select the language that the administrator has assigned to the user and all of the user's roles.

When the user logs in again, the language they last selected will be set as the default.

If the user's most recently selected language is no longer available due to their assigned roles, the next available language will be selected for them.

Language Roles in multilingual companies

If there are multiple locations with different languages, it is recommended that you create language roles. These are used solely to set a TiCon user's default language. Once the appropriate language roles have been created for all available languages, all that remains to be done in the administration section is to assign the corresponding language role to each single user.

Sign in with a Windows user account

When logging in with a Windows user account, all languages installed in TiCon are initially available in a drop-down menu.

If the user selects the Sign in with Windows user account option, the system checks whether a default language is available for the user. This will then be set automatically in the login dialog.

If different languages are available - for example, based on a combination of user and role or the assignment of multiple roles - the user can select their preferred language from a drop-down menu.
