Working with Multiple Databases

TiCon allows you to manage licenses centrally and assign them to single databases.

The same applies to company-wide standard elements.

Please note:

Only a user with super-admin privileges has the ability to make the necessary settings.

Advantages:

▪Centralized management of all licenses

▪Centralized assignment of licenses to various databases

▪Centralized management of company-wide standard elements

▪License Distribution: Ability to distribute all licenses from the primary database (PrimaryDB) to the replica database (ReplikaDB) and work in the PrimaryDB only as an administrator

Prerequisites:

▪Several databases are available.

▪One database is defined as the primary database (PrimaryDB).

▪The primary database time must be a server-based database.

▪The connection string for the database and the necessary permissions are in place.

How it works:

▪One database will be defined as the primary database.

▪One or more databases are defined as replica databases.

▪Licenses are managed and distributed through the primary database.

▪Replica databases have fewer privileges and are assigned licenses

▪The folder structure for elements to be managed centrally must exist on all ReplikaDB instances. This must be created manually in ReplikaDB.

▪The module configuration for centrally managed building blocks must be maintained manually at the local level and must correspond to the PrimaryDB.

Please note:

The folder permission scheme is not managed centrally.
