Meaning

Copy to database

When copying to the database, it must be taken into account that the status of the document is saved. Changes outside TiCon are therefore not taken into account. Copying also influences the size of the database.

Create file system link

A link refers to the current file in the file system. Linking does not influence the size of the database.

Insert (Web) URL

Here, a reference to an Internet or intranet site with an individual description can be saved with an element.

Depending on the link type, further settings can be made.

For Copy to database and Create file system link, file extensions, i.e. the data type, can be restricted.

For Copy to database, the maximum file size [MB] can additionally be predefined.

Hints / rules:

Maximum file size

If the Maximum file size [MB] column is empty, the corresponding file extension is not subject to any size restrictions.

File extensions

If no file extension is entered, any type of file can be saved.

Once file extensions have been defined, only files of these file types can be saved.

Several file extensions can be displayed separated by a comma or semicolon.

The usual Windows placeholders (question mark (?) for any character and asterisk (*) for any number of characters) can also be used for file extensions.

Comment

A note can be entered in the Comment column to describe the file extensions. This column is in one language only as it merely serves as information for the administrator.
