The following value input types can be selected in value definition. Depending on the selection, various settings can be made.

free value quantity (numeric)

If a free value quantity is of the type numerical, a minimum and maximum value has to be entered for the code part. If minimum and maximum value are empty, any value can be entered.

Value definition means: Number between 1 and 22 (each including)

free value quantity (alphanumeric)

If a free value quantity is of the type alphanumeric, numbers and letters can be entered as code part. If the value definition is empty, all alphanumeric characters can be used.

The following special characters in connection with one or several alphanumeric characters limit the code assignment (the code part contains in all examples two positions):

Character	Meaning / Example
[]	Areas of alphanumeric characters [A-C][D-F] - the first position of the code can contain the characters A, B, C, and the 2nd position the characters D, E, F.
.	Any character .A - the first character is optional, and the 2nd must be an A.
$	End character A$ - the last character must be an A, the $ sign must come after the A.
^	Start character ^A - the first character must be an A, the ^ character must come before the A.
*	Any number of characters G* - any number of Gs can be contained in the code part. It is allowed to assign no Gs.
+	Any number of characters G+ - any number of Gs can be contained in the code part. At least one G must be assigned.
[^]	Not allowed sign [^A] - an A must not be entered at this position.

These expressions can be combined with each other in any way.

All values valid for a code part are entered with a description.

Please note:

If the wildcard character * is used as value, any characters can be used on the position of the wildcard character.

Multi-digit value sets:

Bei Mehrstelligen Wertemengen z. B. 3-stellig, kann man entweder alle drei Werte fest definieren oder nur einzelne Stellen vorgeben. Die anderen Stellen werden mit Füllzeichen automatisch aufgefüllt. Bei Anlage der Wertedefinition können Füllzeichen auch direkt eintragen werden. Die einzelnen Werte der Wertedefinition müssen eindeutig sein.

Fill character

Only fill characters may be entered into the corresponding code positions. A fill character must not be empty. If the fill character is deleted and saved afterwards, the saving is rejected and the box for the fill character is displayed with a red border.

Number range (sequential)

For the defined part of a code a sequential number is generated by the system. The administrator can define the number with which the next element is created and the step size between the numbers.

Possible settings for the number cycle

Please note:

•Minimum value default = 1; empty or < 0 not allowed

•Maximum value default corresponds to the number of possible positions and the maximum value; empty is not allowed. --> So 999 means that the number cycle can have a maximum of 3 positions, with 999 as the largest possible number.

•Bei einem mehrzahligen Nummernkreis (z. B. 999) werden die ersten Stellen mit dem Füllzeichen aufgefüllt, solange diese nicht belegt sind (z. B. ..6).

Number range (code-specific)

For the defined code part, a sequential number is generated by the system depending on the previous code. The administrator can define the step size between the numbers.
