Each element opened in TiCon for editing is temporarily locked in order to avoid several users editing the element at the same time. If TiCon is shut down unexpectedly, e.g. due to the fact that the network connection to the database being broken, the locking of the element will last for at least 10 minutes and no more than 15 minutes.
The "Unlock" function (in the ribbon / “Manage" area in each element configuration) can be used to unlock a separate element for further processing. If necessary, the administrator can use these functions to unlock elements that are, for example, accidentally locked by other users. Note that in such a case, unsaved changes are lost.

In order to unlock temporarily locked folders, open the properties of the folder and select the Unlock button in the ribbon.
The unlock function is also available in the administration. Here, it can be used for the administration of objects, such as element configurations, print forms or users that are locked for about 10–15 minutes if the program crashes.
