The "EAWS® structure" tab forms the core of the EAWS® rapid screening. All relevant information on the execution conditions of the individual work steps is entered here. The observed load situations with all ergonomic influencing factors are entered.
In contrast to the detailed EAWS® analysis, only specific load situations are described here. For example, it is not necessary to analyze the entire activity time for posture. It is sufficient to indicate noticeable strains such as overhead work. The times can be roughly estimated. Depending on the load situation, it is sufficient to record only body postures or only forces or only manual load handling or all at the same time. When specifying time proportions, you can choose whether to enter them in relation to the entire shift (i.e. how long per shift) or in relation to the cycle (i.e. how long within a cycle). In this way, you can easily record activities that are only carried out a few times during the shift.
When entering forces and loads, you can enter either a time duration or a number depending on the current situation. If you know both the duration and the number, you can enter both values and TiCon will automatically decide whether the actions are static or dynamic and will calculate either the number (dynamic) or the duration (static). You can see how TiCon classifies your action in the "Classification" column.
When handling loads, some columns are grayed out depending on the selected load type. You can enter values there for documentation purposes. However, these are not included in the calculation.
You will immediately see the points for the individual sections above the individual sections. The points are calculated automatically each time a change is made so that you can quickly test changes with regard to their evaluation. Arm and whole-body forces are displayed in separate sections but are evaluated together in the EAWS®. Therefore, both sections always show the same score, even though this is only included once in the total score.
As the evaluation in the EAWS® rapid screening always assumes the worst case and always rounds up, it can lead to higher scores in individual cases than a detailed EAWS® analysis. You will therefore only receive a total score without any further details. Use the EAWS® rapid screening explicitly to preselect workstations that you would like to evaluate more precisely. Workplaces whose EAWS® evaluations are uncritical therefore do not have to be evaluated in detail.
Note: |
In the rapid screening, the maximum of the non-parallel strains of the individual categories (body position, forces, and load handling) is taken as the activity duration to determine the balancing compensation time in Section IV. This minimizes the activity duration and maximizes the balancing compensation duration for the data and thus corresponds to the worst-case scenario, in line with the rapid screening. |
